One day while exploring Tyria I decided that I wanted a guild that was more then a group of people adventuring under a witty name and a "cool" cape. I wanted a guild that was based on a belief, not just the belief that you should have fun at all times, but that you should strive to uphold the title you are given by becoming a member of that guild. But what should that title be? Something with meaning obviously, but that meaning had to fit my vision. "Knight" fit, but I felt that it was overused, and then I remembered the story of Don Quixote. While he was a little unorthodox, ok really unorthodox, his style of adventuring and the ideals he stood for were just what I was looking for. Then I found myself in the dilemma of naming the people that would be upholding these ideals. After some thought I settled on "Knights Errant." Now that I knew what the members of this guild would be called I needed to figure out the name of the guild itself. After some brainstorming I had a few ideas, but one stood out in my mind. Throw in some gold and a quick trip to the Guild Registrar and The Legion of Knights Errant [TLKE] was formed. |
